Hi, my name is Lili. This is the part where I tell you about what moves me. It’s quite simple: I love sharing. Sharing food, laughs, things that inspire me, that I find beautiful or funny, things that I find tricky - these ones pack the best life lessons – and the list goes on.
One other thing about me: I have the utmost admiration for creators - people who craft things, ideas, thoughts, meals, and so on... I’m choosing not to call them artists, because I find the word limiting. An act of creation can be as simple as slicing a piece of bread, spreading confiture on it and placing it on an imperfect plate.
I grew up in post-communist Romania, in a house with my maternal grandparents. My Grandma, to quote LL Cool J, was “something like a phenomenon”. Sort of a magician, especially in the kitchen department, as she was creating the most spectacular meals out of oftentimes very simple and modest ingredients. My brother once remarked that we grew up “eating better than the counts in War and Peace”. The thing that elevated everything that she was doing was the heart and dedication she was putting into it. I learned about sharing and creativity from her. Sharing is a multiplier: the more you give, the more you get.
My vision for Onda is to share with the world the things that inspire me, with the intention of creating a community of people who live with authenticity and attuned to beauty.
Confucius said that “We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one”. The seed for my second life was planted in 2020 when I quit a job that was not fulfilling me, and sprouted in the summer of 2022 when I met Iulia. Onda was born out of the meeting of two kindred passionate souls, which was made possible by the miraculous alignment a helluva lot of planets.
Vis-à-vis this meeting and countless others that have defined my life trajectory, my motto in life is this: “85% of success in life is just showing up.”
So in this spirit, come visit us, spend some time, discover, listen, and smile, even if you only do it from the inside.
From the heart,
Lili
